Dia de los Muertos SWFL Parade + Festival

When: Thursday, Nov. 2 to Friday, Nov. 3

Where: Downtown Fort Myers

On Thursday, Nov. 2, the traditional day celebrated in Mexico, Dia de los Muertos SWFL will host a parade through downtown Fort Myers, coninuing the celebration and entertaining activities through Friday. A Dia de los Muertos theme at Centennial Park will offer vendors, live music and entertainment.
Vendors will offer crafts and wares, Mexican food, entertainment or more. There will also be an area for a small memorial in honor of ancestors.
This event is to help raise funds for the Dreams in the Sun charity, a non-profit organization created to help women fighting uterine cancer.

Anyone interested in being part of the festival, in the form of a parade float, a bicycle or motorcycle club, any club, a colorfully decorated car or vehicle in honor of an ancestor, or celebrate as walkers in the parade, all in full costume and make up, contact the organizers of the festival, don’t hesitate to call/text 258-258-2584 or email diademuertosswfl@yahoo.com.
“The parade will consist of floats, cars, walkers and let’s see what else and will end where the vendors are set up, all ideas welcome,” organizers said. “There are, of course, some fees and paperwork involved, so let’s talk. I would love for alot of participation from everyone so we can raise money for the non profit created, to help women fighting Uterine Cancer.”
